2024 CLS Alumni

Selected through a nationally competitive application process, CLS Program alumni successfully completed an intensive language and cultural immersion program, which is equivalent to approximately one academic year of undergraduate level language coursework. In addition to weekly formal classroom instruction, CLS alumni engaged in one-on-one language practice with native speakers for conversational practice, as well as cultural activities designed to enhance language ability and understanding of the history, politics, and culture of their host site and region.

CLS plays an important role in preparing U.S. students for the 21st century’s globalized workforce, increasing American competitiveness, and contributing to national security. The CLS Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government.
